Wynne Health Group – a mission-driven, public interest health policy consulting and advocacy firm – seeks applicants with a strong interest in federal health policy and politics to join our DC team as a Fellow. This opportunity is ripe for students looking to gain first-hand experience working with lobbyists and consultants on key legislative and regulatory issues shaping our healthcare system.
The Fellow will assist on a variety of projects – from research and written analyses of federal health policy developments to coverage of Congressional hearings, Administration meetings, and think tank briefings. The Fellow will work closely with the DC team to support broader advocacy initiatives, including by contributing research, editing, and writing of advocacy materials and issue briefs. The Fellow will have opportunities for 1:1 mentoring with senior leaders as well as the opportunity to complete a capstone project.
The position starts as soon as June 1, 2020, and will last approximately six to 12 months, though there is some flexibility in that timeframe. The Fellow will work on a part-time basis with a monthly stipend provided. The Fellow will have flexibility to work remotely, including exclusively during periods of social distancing. Office space is also available at our Gallery Place/Chinatown location in Washington, DC.
Skills and Abilities:
- Self-starter with an interest in health policy and the legislative and regulatory processes;
- Excellent writing skills and research abilities;
- Ability to work independently, as well as with a multi-state team;
- Exceptional professionalism and organizational skills; and
- Candidacy for a master’s degree in a relevant field preferred.
