Alyson Lewis

Alyson Lewis focuses on managing federal advocacy strategy, congressional intelligence, and lobbying for the firm’s clients, including assistance garnering federal appropriations funding.
Before joining Impact Health, Alyson was a founding member of Madison Associates, LLC, a government relations firm that focused on appropriations issues and related legislative strategies. She was an equity partner in the firm and served as its Legislative Director before ascending to Principal.
Alyson has over 20 years of experience in developing and implementing legislative strategies to help accomplish client goals in Washington. She spends a significant portion of her time interfacing directly with congressional offices in the presentation of client interests. She has become an expert in translating health care organization goals into achievable legislative and administrative endpoints as well as designing and implementing the strategies necessary to accomplish them. She has developed a unique expertise in assisting and advising clients in working with the Appropriations Committees and has developed a substantive knowledge of health care programs, policy, and funding streams.
Prior to founding Madison Associates, LLC, Alyson was a Legislative Director at Powers, Pyles, Sutter & Verville, PC, a law firm with a focus on health and education policy. In this position she helped develop and grow a significant client base. While at the firm, she also had responsibility for writing and editing a weekly health care newsletter and managing the firm’s political action committee.
Alyson is a magna cum laude graduate with honors from Florida State University where she studied International Relations and History and is a member of Phi Beta Kappa. She spent her sophomore year studying abroad at Richmond College in London, England. She has served in leadership positions in the Junior League of Washington and the Florida State Society. She currently lives in Washington, D.C. with her husband and their two daughters.
