Summer 2019 Intern: Federal Government Relations & Policy (Full or Part-time; Stipend)
Wynne Health Group – one of DC’s preeminent health policy consulting and advocacy practices – seeks applicants with a strong interest in federal health policy and politics to join our DC team as a Summer 2019 Intern. This opportunity is ripe for students looking to gain first-hand experience working with lobbyists and consultants on key legislative and regulatory issues shaping our healthcare system.
The Summer Intern will assist on a variety of projects – from research and written analyses of federal health policy developments to coverage of Congressional hearings, Administration meetings, and think tank briefings. The Summer Intern will work closely with the DC team to support broader advocacy initiatives, including by contributing research, editing, and writing of advocacy materials and issue briefs. Additionally, the Summer Intern will work with the team to post pertinent information to Policy Hub, the only comprehensive unbiased source of must-know policy analysis and insight impacting healthcare organizations.
The position starts in late spring and will last through the beginning of August, though there is some flexibility in that timeframe. The Summer Intern will work on either a part- or full-time basis with a monthly stipend provided. The Summer Intern will be based at our Gallery Place/Chinatown office in Washington, DC.
Skills and Abilities:
- Self-starter with an interest in health policy and the legislative and regulatory processes;
- Excellent writing skills and research abilities;
- Ability to work independently, as well as with a multi-state team;
- Exceptional professionalism and organizational skills; and
- Candidacy for a master’s degree in a relevant field preferred.
